The two top photos are of Mataranka (104 Klms south of Katherine) where I broke down in my first attempt to get out of Katherine...!! Cute Bloke, Eh...!! OK, maybe not..!! My sister wanted more photos of me so my sister gets what she wants. The other photo is of a layby 30 klms south of Katherine where I decided to become a Christian - I guess lots of you won't understand about that decision and think I am crazy, but I am so happy with it..!! Anybody interested why, give me a buzz...!! :-)
Great to read this Des! I think many expect Christians to be a little crazy! Even the 'Good Book' mentions that Christians are called to be 'peculiar people' however I hasten to add that this is not in the context of being entirely stupid but just that they are open to being 'used' in a correct way by God if they want to ask what God wants them to do with the rest of their lives. Many non-Christians and other faiths believe vaguely in 'someone up there' but don't have any personal connection with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as this step can be too challenging!?
ReplyDeleteI believe that God has made us all with an 'unfilled spiritual connection' or 'hole' in our makeup that can only be really filled when we personally ask God to lead our lives, recognise that Jesus wasn't a deluded dude and we ask daily for God's wisdom to help us. This doesn't mean that we can now sit on our behinds and take it easy . . . there's really satisfying work to do for Him if we want to connect . . . It's up to us . . .JC said "I stand at the door
(of our hearts) and knock" - if we seriously and sincerely want to open our mind to spiritual doors GREAT but He won't smash it down like a heavenly TRG assault group . . .we have to open the door ourselves.
There is an old question about the theology of Jesus Christ . . .which of the three "L's" do you think he is . . .Lunatic, Liar, Lord [as our leader but not like the dudes that sit in the House of Lords in UK]
